Latest release:

"Just As The Tide Was Turning" b/w "Cushions" is the second double-a side single from Leeds folk collective Low Moor Rising. As with 2015's debut "Over The Hills And Far Away" b/w "She Draws Her Cloak Around Her", the new one sets traditional folk lyrics to new melodies and arrangements. The group reconvened to record after working on other projects which saw the light of day earlier this year - singer/instrumentalist Spencer Bayles's indie-rock project Navigation Day released its debut EP Mid-Decade Blue, and vocalist Emma Gatherer released her solo debut folk EP Wing and Water.

The single is available from their Bandcamp page - lowmoorrising.bandcamp.com

The debut single from Leeds folk collective Low Moor Rising will be released on 31st July 2015.

Over The Hills And Far Away / She Draws Her Cloak Around Her is the first single from Leeds-based folk collective Low Moor Rising. The trio - Spencer Bayles (also of indie-pop duo Last Night's TV) along with Emma Gatherer and Sarah Bayles (from sea shanty group The Ocean Loiners) - first got together to record a version of The Seeds of Love in response to BBC Radio 2's call for submissions in celebration of Cecil Sharp's 2014 induction into the Hall of Fame. Following that initial collaboration, they decided to set about putting traditional folk song lyrics to new melodies and arrangements, culminating in this debut single release.

Initially available only from their Bandcamp page, a wider release will follow along with a new EP later in 2015. Live dates are also currently being arranged.

1 Over The Hills And Far Away (3:15)
(lyrics: traditional, melody/arrangement: Spencer Bayles)

2 She Draws Her Cloak Around Her (1:54)
(lyrics: traditional, melody/arrangement: Spencer Bayles)
